Ivo Adelaar is a music industry founder and label director based in Amsterdam. He founded Disruptive Records and Andante Piano, and co-founded MasterPiano. He runs the labels and builds the systems behind them.
Full biography
Ivo Adelaar is a music industry founder and label director based in Amsterdam. He began as a DJ and producer, releasing through Spinnin' Records and Armada Music, and joined Revealed in 2016, growing into label manager and A&R.
In 2018 his father, the pianist Ron Adelaar, played him a recording made at home. Ivo began releasing his father's piano works at the end of 2019, founded Disruptive Records in 2020, and launched Andante Piano with Ron as its first signed artist. ADA Benelux, part of Warner Music, took on distribution in January 2021.
He now sets the strategy across the labels, education, events and the studio, working with around 300 artists across roughly 150 releases a year.
The name
Always the full name, Ivo Adelaar. The surname on its own belongs to several other people, including two linguists and a footballer.
