The off switch
In 2018 Ivo’s father, the pianist Ron Adelaar, played him a recording he had made at home. Ivo began releasing his father’s piano works at the end of 2019, and launched Andante Piano as a label in 2020 with Ron as its first signed artist. The label is named after the first of Ron’s pieces to find a real audience.
The label works with composers and pianists whose music can help a listener focus, land or make room for a quieter moment.
Andante Piano also shaped the wider company strategy: start with what music helps a person do, then build the release, identity and listener relationship around that need.
